Singer Chris Evans Kaweesa finally opened up on his rumored relationship with Dona, the elder sister of Chosen Becky, after the two were seen all over each other during a recent trip to Canada.
On the sidelines of the African Descent Summit in Toronto where he performed with Becky late last month, Kaweesi was snapped while cozying up to Dona, (real name Radona Kisakye).
The ‘Wampoya’ singer appeared to lose control as he got a bit handsy with Dona, lifting her up playfully and looking all smitten.
Even at the home where he was staying with Becky’s family (she traveled with all four of her blood sisters), the two appeared inseparable, sparking wild speculations in the media.
But in an interview this weekend, Kaweesi said nothing serious happened between him and Dona.
The two, he said, were merely having fun while enjoying the freedoms of being out of the country.
“You know, being out of Uganda is like releasing a bird from its cage,” he told BBS on Saturday, August 5.
“Here in you Uganda I don’t have that kind of freedom; people are watching you everywhere…like even if you are dropping something at a lodge, in a minute there people swarming you.”
Talking about whether there was any chemistry between him and Dona, Kaweesi said he couldn’t be attracted to someone he just met for the first time.
“I cannot be in love with Chosen Becky’s sister because I don’t know much about her behavior; we just found each other in Canada,” he said.
“For me, I want to study a person to the point where I can see inside their gut. That is why I have lost many women to other men…I need at least 6 months to learn about a person.”
Talking about red flags in relationships, the 36-year-old revealed for instance that he cannot be in a relationship with a physically strong woman.
“You need to know about your woman’s strength. You can even test her by tricking her into lifting a heavy object like a rock. If she’s able to lift up, then you better run,” he said.
“Or, when you are sleeping and there are thieves at the door and she jumps out to go and check, that is another red flag, because if she’s ready to face a bunch of thieves head to head; what about you?”
Even after 15 years of fame, Singer Kaweesi says he’s not yet had good luck with women and has not been able to settle down with one.
