A police officer in Gulu City finds himself on the wrong side of the law, accused of sexually assaulting two young girls, aged 12 and 13. The incident has sent shockwaves through the community and raised concerns about the abuse of authority.
The arrest of the 36 year-old police officer was announced by Police Spokesperson Mr. Fred Enanga during a press conference in Kampala on Monday. According to Mr. Enanga, the alleged crime took place on October 23, when the officer lured two siblings who were harvesting sweet potatoes in Achora village into his home.
As the victims waited for transportation to take the harvested sweet potatoes home, the suspect invited them into his house and locked them inside. He then subjected the 13-year-old girl to a horrifying ordeal, assaulting her in the presence of her younger 12-year-old sister.
This shocking case has raised questions about the behavior of a public official entrusted with maintaining law and order. Mr. Enanga condemned the officer’s actions and urged parents to educate their children, especially girls, on child resistance skills to protect them from potential harm.
